Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an Al alloy for casting with superior mechanical properties and pressure resistance by adding Mg, Mn, Be, Ti and B to Al in a specified ratio.
CONSTITUTION: An alloy consisting of, by weight, 3.0W5.5% Mg, 0.10W1.0%, preferably 0.20W0.60% Mn, 0.001W0.01%, preferably 0.001W0.004% Be, 0.15W 0.60%, preferably 0.20W0.50% Ti, B <2% and ≥0.001%, of the amount of Ti and the balance Al with impurities is prepared. The pressure resistance can be improved while maintaining the favorable properties. Since the ratio of B to Ti is low, even if the molten alloy is held over a long time, TiB2 is hardly precipitated, and the casting work of the alloy is easily carried out.
