PURPOSE:To obtain the titled aluminum alloy having excellent castability, strength, corrosion resistance and toughness by specifying the compsn. consisting of Mg, Mn, Si and Al and suppressing the contents of inevitable impurities. CONSTITUTION:The titled aluminum alloy contains, by weight, 4.0-6.5% Mg, 1.0-2.5% Mn and 0.3-1.5% Si, furthermore contains at need, one or more kinds among 0.01-0.3% Ti, 0.001-0.1% B and 0.01-0.3% Zr and consisting of the balance Al with inevitable impurities of <0.5% Fe, <0.1% Cu, <0.1% Ni and <0.3% Zn. Said alloy has excellent characteristics as the corrosion- resistant alloy for die casting, furthermore has excellent mechanical characteristics and is suitable as the castings such as the parts for a vessel and the articles for architectural use.
