Abstract

PURPOSE:To quickly turn on/off a switching element and reduce switching loss by providing the titled circuit with a discharging switch to discharge electric charge accumulated in the input part of the switching element. CONSTITUTION:A transistor Tr1 repeats on/off operation by rectangular wave input signals. When the transistor Tr1 is turned on, voltage is induced to the secondary side of a driving transformer DT and charging current flows into a switching element 1, which is turned on. When the transistor Tr1 is turned off, reverse voltage is induced to the secondary side of the driving transformer DT and a discharging switch 2 is turned on. Consequently electric charge accumulated in the input capacitance of the switching element 1 is quickly discharged through the discharging switch 2.
