Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize a switch capacity, by inserting a switch for switching current fed to a smoothing capacitor, and a resistor for limiting the charge current of the smoothing capacitor, in series, into a space between the input terminal of an AC power source and the output terminal of DC voltage. CONSTITUTION:A switch K2 for turning a circuit for charging a smoothing capacitor C1, ON/OFF, a resistor R1, and a diode 7 are inserted in series, into a space between an AC input terminal R and a DC output terminal T1. In a state that the electric charge of the capacitor C1 is perfectly discharged, when the switch K2 is turned ON, then the capacitor C1 is charged through the resistor R1. When a switch K1 is turned ON after the completion of charging, then output DC current is fed through the switch K1, and current hardly flows to the switch K2. Accordingly, the capacity of the switch K2 is enough for a capacity for permitting the charge current of the capacitor C1 to flow, and the capacity can be miniaturized.
