Abstract

PURPOSE:To supply a current limiting function and a high-voltage generating function in case of load trigger by connecting the output of a DC voltage generating circuit to a terminal at the load side of a capacitor for resonance through an impedance element in a series resonance type inverter. CONSTITUTION:The input terminals Ti, Ti' of a DC high-voltage generating circuit 10 such as a multiple voltage rectifier are connected between the secondary winding of a transformer 7 through inductance elements 8 for resonance, and the output terminal To is connected to a node X of a load device 3 of a capacitor 9 for resonance through a resistor 11 having high resistance value for charge. Switching transistors 5, 5' are at ON-OFF alternately, and the capacitor 9 for resonance is charged by the output of the DC high voltage generating circuit 10. When the sum of the output voltage of a transformer 7 and the charging voltage of the capacitor 9 exceeds the trigger voltage of the load device 3, resonance currents flow through the load device 3 through the inductance elements 8 and the capacitor 9.
