Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain a discharge start voltage at a constant level for a device and improve its machining efficiency, by providing independent switching means in charge and discharge circuits respectively of a condenser and open-close controlling the both switching means in response to a charge voltage of the condenser. CONSTITUTION:A condenser 6 is connected to a DC power source 5 through a current limiting resistor 7 and charge switching circuit 8. A charge-discharge control circuit 11 generates control signals for controlling charge end and discharge start timings of the condenser 6 and a charge-discharge repetition period of the condenser 6, and its control signal S1 controls an on-off operation for the charge switching circuit 8 while its control signal S2 controls an on-off operation for a discharge switching circuit 12 intermediately connected between the condenser 6 and machining electrode 2. Then the charge-discharge control circuit 11 is applied a voltage Vc across both ends of the condenser 6 and voltage Vg across a machining 4 as input signal voltages.
