Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent contact or approach of a fine metal wire to the corner parts of a substrate and a pellet of semiconductor device by a method wherein a precoat agent is applied to the circumferential part of the semiconductor pellet before the pellet is to be connected with the fine metal wire. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor pellet 3 is fixed on a substrate 1 through an anchorage of solder, resin, etc., and then the precoat agent 7 of silicon varnish, silicon rubber, etc., is applied to the circumferential part of the semiconductor pellet 3. After then, an upper face electrode of the semiconductor pellet 3 and a lead 2 are connected with the fine metal wire 4. Then the precoat agent 5 is applied on the whole surface of the semiconductor pellet 3. The whole is sealed with resin finally to obtain the resin molded semiconductor device. Accordingly contact or approach of the fine metal wire 4 to the corner part of the substrate 1 and to the corner part of the semiconductor pellet 3 is not generated, and the problems of short-circuit trouble, reduction of withstand voltage and insulating resistance can be prevented.
