Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce a clad steel pipe excellent in abrasion resistance and weldability, by forming a clad steel sheet having a hard steel as a core and a soft steel as an outer layer into a steel pipe for transporting slurry.
CONSTITUTION: The core 3 of a hard steel containing C<0.50%, Si=0.05W1.00%, Mn=0.20W2.50%, P≤0.04%, S≤0.02%, Al<0.01% and, if desired, one or both of Cr=0.20W15.0% and V≤0.20% is placed in a mold 1, and then is surrounded with a molten metal 2 of a soft steel containing C<0.50%, Si=0.05W1.00%, Mn=0.20W2.50%, P≤0.04%, S≤0.02% and Al<0.10%, and subsequently the molten metal is solidified to obtain a triple clad steel sheet wherein the thickness of the core 3' is 40W80% of the whole. Alternatively, the cores 3 are separated by a parting plate 7 to obtain a double clad steel sheet. From this, a clad steel pipe that consists of the outer layer (or outer and inner layers) 2' excellent in the weldability and the core 3' excellent in the abrasion resistance can be produced.
