Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a core roll excellent in toughness and anti-surface roughness with the increase in spherical graphite deep in thickness by inoculating a ductile cast iron for a core, at which is to be united with a shell, specified in composition at a spruce after spheriodizing of graphite.
CONSTITUTION: A ductile cast iron composed of 2.8 to 3.8% C by weight, 1.0 to 2.3% Si, 0.4 to 0.9% Mn, less than 0.1% P. less than 0.015% S, less than 2.0% N1, less than 0.5% Cr, less than 0.9% Mo, 0.04 to 0.1% Mn and Fe for the rest.
