Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the amount of ozone desorbed from an ozone adsorbent and to make an ozone adsorbing and desorbing tower compact by feeding a purge gas such as oxygen to the tower during the desorption of ozone.
CONSTITUTION: Ozone produced with an ozonizer 1 is stored by adsorption on an adsorbent packed in an ozone adsorbing and desorbing tower 2. When the adsorbent is satd. with ozone, the ozonizer 1 is stopped, and by passing water through an ejector 10, the tower 2 is evacuated by suction. The stored ozone is desorbed, and ozonized water is formed. At this time, by feeding brine heated with a heater 7 from a warm brine tank 6 to the tower 2 with a pump 8, the packing cooled with a refrigerator 9 during the adsorption is heated to accelerate the ozone desorption. By feeding a small amount of oxygen from an oxygen feeding source 4 to the tower 2 in the latter half of the ozone desorption so as to purge ozone, the amount of desorbed ozone is almost doubled.
