Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance water-making efficiency by a method wherein a valve device such as water-seal part is installed at the outlet of a condenser to suppress breathing action during a process for condensing moisture contd. in the atmospheric air after adsorbing the moisture using an adsorbent, then desorbing by heating.
CONSTITUTION: Valves 9, 10 are opened so that moisture content in the air from a blower 2 is adsorbed by an adsorbent 1a in a container 1. Then, the valves 9, 10 are closed and valves 11, 12 are opened so that the moisture in the adsorbent 1a is desorbed by circulating a gas coming from a heater 5 and a blower 3. The amt. of the moisture increased by the desorption passes through a pipe 8b and is condensed to water in a condenser 4, the water passes through pipe 8c and a U-pipe water- seal device 2 and is guided to a water-receive tank 6. Because a water-seal device 20 is installed at the end of the pipe 8c, pressure due to the water level h1 or h2 is generated in the device 20, if the circulating gas used for the desorption is expanded or contracted by temperature change of itself. Thus, the breathing action by which the air is sucked into the circulating desorption gas etc. is suppressed and as a result high efficiency of water-making is maintained.
