Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a mixed gas concentrator which accomplish an excellent adsorption and desorption through the control of the temperature in an adsorption chamber under a specified value by means of a fin tube arranged for temperature control in the adsorption chamber.
CONSTITUTION: In concnetrating O2 from air, air D is sent to an adosrption chamber 5' in an adsorption tower 5, while a cooling fluid is allowed to flow from a cooler 21 through a fin tube 33 to the temperature in the chamber 5', improving the effect of adsorbing moisture and N2 in air. The air thus O2-enriched is delivered through a pipe 16. Air for regenerating an adsorbent is allowed to flow through a pressure-reducing valve 19 to reduce the pressure thereof and then proceed to an adsorption chamber 6' in an adsorption tower 6. On the other hand, the cooling fluid from the fin tube 33 is cooled by the cooler 21 and returns to the adsorption chamber 5'. Air containing moisture and N2 which are desorbed from an adsorbent under a pressure reduced atmosphere in the chamber 6' is discharged out through a pipe 15. In additional, a remaining part of the air is adsorbed by the tower 5 and discharged out. The regeneration of the adsorbent is performed in the adsorption tower 5 while the concentration of O2 in the tower 6. Here, a heating fluid is introduced into the tube 33 of the chamber 5 and a cooling fluid, a fin tube 34. With such an arrangement, the adsorbing and desorbing capacity of the adsorbent is incre ased, thus producing O2-enriched air at a lower cost.
