Abstract

PURPOSE: To safely produce a high concn. ozone soln. at a low cost by desorbing ozone, adsorbed in an ozone adsorbing and desorbing unit, by vacuum suction with a water sealing type pump and by dissolving the ozone in water in the pump.
CONSTITUTION: Oxygen from feed ozygen source 1 is partially ozonized in ozonizer 2 and introduced into ozone adsorbing and desorbing unit 41 through heat exchanger 5 and gas cooler 7. In unit 41 ozone alone is selectively adsorbed on an adsorbent, and the residual gas is returned to ozonizer 2. When the adsorbent well adsorbs ozone, by opening change-over valve 82 unit 41 is evacuated with water sealing type pump 10 to suction-desorb the ozone without feeding a desorbing gas. This ozone is sealed between moving vanes by water in pump 10 and dissolved in the water to obtain an ozone soln. of such a high concn. as 10W50wt%. A plurality of ozone adsorbing and desorbing units are pref. set to alternately perform adsorption and desorption in the units.
