CONSTITUTION:The ultraviolet-ray treatment is performed by irradiating ultraviolet rays at a distance of 2-10cm for 5-60min with, for example, a low-voltage mercury-arc lamp where a maximum peak wavelength is 2537Angstrom . After the irradiation, display electrodes 3 are provided on the lower face of an upper substrate 1, and counter electrodes 4 are provided on the upper face of a lower substrate 2. As an adhesive, an epoxy adhesive containing an epoxy resin as a component, more precisely, an epoxy-polyamide adhesive containing an epoxy resin and polyamide is desirable. The ultraviolet-ray treatment is performed after providing electrodes 3 and 4 or after performing the orientation treatment; and by this ultraviolet-ray treatment, a hudroxyl group of phenol is introduced to the surface of the polyester film, and the surface is made hydrophilic to improve the quality.
