Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the irregularity of a substrate gap based upon the undulation of the substrates by interposing liquid crystal and spacers in the cell substrate gap. CONSTITUTION:On one main surface, including a transparent electrode 1, of one electrode substrate 2 to which the transparent electrode 1 is adhered, spherical spacers 3 are scattered uniformly. The circumferential edge part of the other electrode substrate 5 where a common transparent electrode 4 is adhered on one main surface is applied with an adhesive except at a liquid crystal injection opening 6, and the electrode substrates 2 and 5 are stack and applied with pressure in a direction 7, and at the same time, the adhesive is cured, thus forming a space part 9 wherein spacers 3 surrounded with an adhesive layer 8 containing the spacers 3 are interposed. As liquid crystal is injected form the injection opening 6 in a vacuum tank, the spacers make a substrate gap without undulation and at this moment, the injection opening is sealed.
