Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the time required to inject a liq. crystal and to easily maintain the gap between substrates set opposite to each other by forming a one-side adhesive spacer on the insides of the substrates except the peripheries. CONSTITUTION:Substrates 1, 2 with electrodes 7, 8 formed on the insides, respectively are set opposite to each other at a predetermined space and sealed with a sealant 3 at the peripheries. A one-side adhesive spacer 9 is then formed on the insides of the substrates 1, 2 except the peripheries with the material of the sealant 3 or other material by printing or other method, and the nonadhesive side of the spacer 9 is cured to form a nonadhesive surface 10. By this structure of a liq. crystal display panel highly accurate parallelism with an about 10mum gap is obtd., and a change of the gap due to external pressure, external force, etc. are prevented. Since the one-side adhesive spacer 9 is used, a liq. crystal 4 is injected rapidly.
