Abstract

PURPOSE: To inject liquid form material such as liquid crystal, electrochromic material, etc. without making use of costly equipment by applying capillarity.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent flat base material 1a having transparent counter electrodes for displaying specified characters is bonded a similar transparent flat plate by means of a spacer 10 whose both ends in one direction are held open. When this display bodt is dipped at one end into the specified liquid 3 in a vessel 13, the liquid reaches the summit of the upper side owing to capillarity. Thereafter, the open portions of the spacer 10 are sealed by means of sealant. When the sealing portions are too large and make sealing work difficult, a spacer is provided in island form at the open ends. Here, the bonding power between the transparent substrates is intensified.
