Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the effluence of conductive material and prevent the leakage of conducting parts and electrodes by overhanging sealing materials near the upper and lower conducting parts for conducting one of upper and lower electrodes onto the other substrate by way of conductive materials thereby enclosing the conducting parts.
CONSTITUTION: The panel is constituted by sealing the upper and lower electrodes 14, 15 formed on the inside surfaces of a pair of upper and lower substrates 11, 12 and liquid crystal 13 in the inside space formed by the substrates 11, 12 and sealing materials 16. Upper and lower conducting parts 18 which conduct one of the upper electrodes 14 or lower electrodes 15 onto the other substrate by way of conductive materials 24 are provided on the peripheral parts of the substrates. Overhang parts 19 are so provided to the sealing materials 16 in such a manner as to encircle said upper and lower conducting parts 18. Such constitution eliminates the danger of the leakage of the adjoining upper and lower conducting parts 18 and adjoining electrode patterns because the sealing materials 16 and overhang parts 19 prevent the effluence of the conductive materials 24, thereby enabling the panel to be miniaturized.
