Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize both the static and dynamic displays with a display layer along with another substrate, by forming plural static driving segment electrodes plus plural dynamic driving common electrodes on the inner surface of a substrate. CONSTITUTION:Dynamic driving common electrodes 6 and 7 plus a static driving common electrode 11 also function as the shielding electrodes that cover the undesired areas of static driving segment electrodes 4 and 4 plus dynamic driving segment electrodes 9 and 9 respectively. These electrodes 6, 7 and 11 are formed at the areas excepting the effective regions of the electrodes 4 and 4 plus 9 and 9. Furthermore missed parts 16, 17 and 21 of the electrodes 6, 7 and 11 are supplemented by using the above-mentioned segment electrodes as the common electrodes respectively. Thus an undesired display of a lead shape, etc. or the missing of a pattern are eliminated for both the static and dynamic displays.
