Abstract

PURPOSE:To seal projecting parts of upper and lower substrates completely without causing the degradation or the like of the liquid crystal due to a sealing agent, the sealing by heating, or the like, by forming flexible polymer film substrates with injection entrance parts projected and pressing and deforming a metallic ring to seal projecting parts of upper and lower substrates after injection of the liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION:A sealing agent (a resin hardened by ultraviolet rays, or the like) 2 is applied along the inside circumference of a flexible plastic substrate 1, where a transparent electrode is formed, by the screen printing or the like. After a gap agent such as synthetic resin beads is applied to the substrate 1, another substrate 3 is superposed onto the substrate 1, and the sealing agent is hardened. Parts of injection entrances 4 are trimmed into a projecting shape 6. Next, a liquid crystal substance 5 is injected in a vacuum system; and after injection, a metallic ring 7 consisting of aluminium and stainless is fitted to the projecting part 6 and is deformed by pressing the part 6 from above and below to seal the injection entrance 4. The injection entrance 4 is sealed instantaneously and is sealed completely without the bad influence upon the seal part.
