Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent variance in characteristics with the thickness made even by stacking the opposite glass substrate on a base material after filling a seal frame, formed at the circumferential part of a glass substrate, with liquid crystal and spacers and then by sticking it by pressing and heating process.
CONSTITUTION: At the circumferential part of glass substrate 1, prescribed seal frame 2 is fermed by applying epoxy resin. Next, frame 2 is filled with liquid crystal material 3 and glass-fiber fine pieces 4 and the opposite glass substrate 5 is stacked on substrate 1 and heated up to about 150°C under a pressure of about 100W200g. Since more liquid crystal than the capacity of the cell is injected, some of if flows out and the frame is sealed. Unlike the conventional method of injecting the liquid crystal material after sealing, no air resides in the cell and even if the glass substrate would be curved, it is pressed to correct the curvature and stuck by being heated, so that a liquid-crystal display device with neither curvature nor variance in thickness can be obtained.
