Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the flexibility of facilities, by changing properly the processing function of the control system just by connecting an input/output exclusive processor on a common bus or removing the said processor from the common bus. CONSTITUTION:In case no input/output exclusive processor 6 is connected onto a common bus 2, a microprocessor 1'-1 within a CPU1' executed the instruction of a microprogram 13. If a data transfer request is received from input/output devices 5-1-5-n via input/output connecting devices 4-1-4-n during the execution of the instruction of program 13, an interruption arises to the control program. Thus the execution of the instruction of program 13 is discontinued, and the data transfer routine corresponding to the data transfer request is started. In case the processor 6 is connected to the bus 2, just a part of the control program remains at a main storage 3' for an exchange of information with the processor 6. Thus other storage regions can all be used for storage of the microprogram.
