Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a Cu alloy for a resistance with suitable electric conductivity, superior stress corrosion resistance and superior connectivity by adding specified amounts of Ni and Mn to Cu.
CONSTITUTION: This Cu alloy for a resistance consists of 0.1W5% Ni, 0.1W0.7% Mn and the balance Cu with ordinary impurities and has 12W40mS/mm2 electric conductivity, superior stress corrosion resistance enabling use in polluted environment and high connectivity in welding and soldering. The reason that the Ni and Mn contents are restricted to said ranges is that <0.1% Ni causes insufficient stress corrosion resistance, >5% Ni makes the electric conductivity ≤12mS/mm2, <0.1% Mn causes insufficient connectivity, and >0.7% Mn makes the electric conductivity ≤12 mS/mm2.
