Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a device through making a check on errors by adding a counter circuit counting the number of prescribed loops, and a circuit ANDing the output of said circuit with defective loop data, to a control circuit. CONSTITUTION:To a control circuit for a magnetic bubble storage device stored with data of a defective loop in some area other than a storage area for information on each minor loop, a counter circuit 12 counting the number of prescribed loops and a circuit 13 ANDing the output of the counter circuit with the defective loop data are added. For example, when infomation is written in, the counter 12 counts the output of a shift register 10 and outputs a ''1'' up to the prescribed number of loops or a ''0'' when the count value exceeds it. Therefore, data passed through the AND circuit 13 are written up to the prescribed number in minor loops via a function driver 11, and minor loops exceeding the prescribed number, even when normal ones, are treated as defective ones, so that nothing is written in. In readout operation, if the defective loop data has an error, the control circuit detects it.
