Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve error detection economically by exercising by an effective logical circuit by adding an error detection bit, similar to that of a conventional data memory stored with numeric data, to a picture storage device. CONSTITUTION:A data processor 100 processes picture data and exercises input and output control over the picture data. When the picture data is stored in a picture memory device 200, an error detection code generator 300 adds a parity bit. When partial picture data is read out of the picture memory device 200, the parity bit is checked by an error detector 400. Thus, the memory error of the picture memory device 200 is detected and a memory error detection signal 400S is sent to the data processor 100.
