Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase thermal efficiency of an engine, prevent air from inflowing to an alcohol improving device and improve the safety, by controlling a feed amount of improved gas and alcohol and an excess air factor on the basis of a primary air flow speed of the engine and improved gas feed pressure.
CONSTITUTION: A primary air valve 21 of carburetor mode is operated by an accelerator pedal, and improved gas flows from an inlet 37 passing through a gas valve 43 provided in a carburetor main unit 41, and is sucked to a primary air flow from an improved gas port 46. Further methanol is fed to a float chamber 39 via an inlet 42 to pass a variable jet 47 and sucked to the primary air flow from a methanol mozzle 49. The valve 43 and the jet 47 are operated interlocking to a rod 50, and a flow rate of the improved gas and the methanol is determined by the opening of the valve and the jet and the primary air flow, and these valve and jet are opened and closed by an actuator 51. Rotary speed, detected by a speed sensor 23, and feed pressure of the improved gas, detected by a gas pressure sensor 24, are input to a controller 25' controlling the actuator 51.
