Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease the quantity of harmful substances of exhaust gas, by adding an appropriate flow rate of air into an intake passage for supplying mixture into the combustion chamber of an engine.
CONSTITUTION: The variation in the flow rate of air is feedbacked to negative pressure for actuating an air quantity controller 26, by the action of an air quantity control valve 28 provided in the controller 26. The flow rate of air, which is supplied into the intake passage 10 through an air inlet passage 16, is obtained constantly in proportion to the intake flow rate of the intake passage 10 while negative pressure strong enought to actuate a diaphragm 38 is present in an opening 30 of a connection passage 32 connected to a negative pressure chamber 34 of said controller 26. Thus, the air fuel ratio of the mixture supplied to the combustion chamber of the engine 2 is appropriately controlled.
