Abstract

PURPOSE: To feed secondary air to a suction system for a given period of time when an engine is decelerated and thus to prevent an air-fuel mixture from being thickened excessively by an arrangement wherein a secondary air passage is provided through to suction system to an internal combustion engine and a control valve is provided in the passage.
CONSTITUTION: Scondary air supply pipes 15, 16 are provided through down the stream of a throttle valve 4 of a suction path 5. A valve disc 18 driven by a supply valve device 7 is arranged on the pipes. Then in a negative pressure chamber 10 of the valve device 7, a negative pressure transfer rate is controlled by a negative pressure control valve device 8. The contro valve device 8 has a negative pressure chamber 21 and an accumulator 22 formed with a diaphragm 20 having a throttle 31 and a check valve 30. The negative pressure chamber 21 is connected through to the suction path 5 down the stream of the throttle valve 4 through a pipe 33 and is also connected through to the negative pressure chamber 10 of the valve device 7. Then, the accumulator 22 is through directly down the stream when the throttle valve 4 is closed full. The secondary air is therefore supplied so long as negative pressure works on a negative pressure port 35 of the accumulator 22 at deceleration.
