Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the excessive increase in supercharge pressure by constructing the controller so that a psrt of the supercharge pressure introduced into a pressure working chamber of a bypass control valve can be suitably relieved in a supercharge pressure controller provided with an exhaust bypass device on the exhaust turbine side of the supercharger. CONSTITUTION:When a pressure applied to the pressure working chamber 15 of the bypass control valve 11 is weaker than the force of a spring 17, a valve body 12 closes a byoass passage 10, and a supercharge pressure is increased in accordance with the increase in the quantity of exhaust gas. The pressure applied to the above working chamber 15 is not the supercharge pressure itself but it becomes a pressure lowered by a part relieved through a check valve 20 of a branched path 19. The check valve 20 is opened in a degree corresponding to the pressure difference between the supercharge pressure and the exhaust pressure. Thereafter, when the rotational number of the engine reaches a certain value, and a valve body 12 is push-opened against a force exerted by the spring 17, a part of the exhaust gas is escaped through the bypass passage 10, and the driving force of the compressor due to an exhaust turbine 7 is suppressed.
