Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce measuring time in a measuring device for three-dimensional shapes using the reflected light from a measuring surface by moving the position of an object to be measured in such a way that more than constant quantity of light is made incident at all times to a photodetector. CONSTITUTION:The light projected from a light emitting element 1 to the point D of an object 6 to be measured and reflected therefrom directs toward a photodetector 2 through a focusing lens 5. The position of the lens 5 is controlled with a motor 11 in such a way that the reflected light is focused onto the surface of the photodetector 2 and that the output of the photodetector is maximized. The distance B between the lens and the photodetector of that time is measured with a digital scale 13. From this and the focal length F of the lens, the distance A between the lens and the object 6 is determined, whereby A+B is obtd. To measure the point E by moving a table 9 in an X direction, a table 7 is so turned as to maximize the quantity of incident light. From the turning angle and A+B of this time, the coordinates of the point E are obtd.
