Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain both a constantly stable reflected light quantity and stable measurement results by inclining the optical axis of a light source with respect to that of the reflected light in order to change the size of the irradiated area so that the reflected light quantity can be corrected. CONSTITUTION:A light-receiving element 3 is provided vertically above the bottom surface 2 of a transfer path 1 to transfer a sheet-shaped object A to be inspected, and the optical axis of a light source 4 is inclined with respect to that of the light- receiving element 3 and set so that the maximum irradiated area can be obtained when the object A is at the remotest position from the light-receiving element 3. When the distance between the light-receiving element 3 and the object A increases, the irradiated area increases, so that the decrease in the reflected light quantity can be covered relatively. On the other hand, when said distance decreases, the irradiated area decreases, so that the increase in the reflected light quantity can be restrained. Thereby, if the distance between the light-receiving element and the object being inspected changes, the reflected light quantity can be made approximately constant. Accordingly, the measurement results can be stabilized.
