Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the mechanical strength and the durability against heat cycle of an AC generator by plastically deforming a holder for holding a magnetic field coil and coupling it to an armature core. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic field coils 18, 19 are coupled via a nonmagnetic holder 17 to an armature core 6 through between the ends of claw-shaped poles 9, 10. This coupling is achieved by plastic coupling. That is, a slot 26 is formed on the inner peripheral surface of an armature core 6, the end of the holder 17 is engaged with the slot 26, the side surface of the holder 17 is then pressurized to plastically deform it to flow the material of the outer periphery of the holder 17 into the slot 26, and the material is plastically coupled. The mechanical strength and the durability against the heat cycle can be improved by coupling in this manner.
