Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a cylindrical magnet having one gentle gradient of a magnetic flux density distribution by bringing the magnetic pole surfaces of a yoke into contact with the peripheral surface at the circumferential center and so magnetizing both sides of the center as to gradually increase the interval from the peripheral surface of a magnet material. CONSTITUTION:When two poles are, for example, magnetized on the outer periphery of a cylindrical magnet material 11, a yoke 14 is brought at the annular part and the pole surface of the inner peripheral end faces of the legs projected in an inner peripheral direction in contact with the outer peripheral surfaces of the material 11 at the circumferential center in such a manner that an interval therebetween is gradually increased toward both sides. A coil 15 is so wound at both sides of the yoke 14 that the magnetic flux passes in the same direction at the same pole surfaces. When such pole surfaces are magnetized, a magnetic fluxe density distribution having a flat part can be prepared. When such a cylindrical magnet is employed for a magnet for generating stationary magnetic field of a motor or a generator, driving force or output of the generator becomes smooth and efficient.
