Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit easy measurement with a small, light device by a construction wherein light source comprises a semiconductor laser housed in the body of a device and a visible light laser for introducing a visible light to the interior from the outside thereby to form two light systems in the device for measuring coordinates of a hollow shape. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light source 1 is reflected by a transmitting reflector 3 and then irradiated on objects 0, 0'. The reflected lights from the objects pass through a receiving reflector 4 and a condenser 5 and then reach two-divided sensors 6, 6'. A servo mechanism 9 is operated to move the receiving reflector into a proper position, so that amounts of the lights sensed by the sensors 6, 6' become equal to each other. Distances L0, L1 up to the objects can be obtained based on principles of triangular surveying by measuring a distance from the origin P with a displacement amount detector 10. For the measurement, there are required a semiconductor laser beam used for measuring the distances and a visible laser beam used for ensuring irradiation positions to the objects. The light source 1 housed therein a semiconductor laser, while the visible beam is introduced into the light source 1 through an optical fiber placed on the outside thereby the device is provided in small size.
