Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a compact light sensor appropriate for direct measurement, by placing a second rod lens at a prescribed distance from a converging rod lens and transmitting light from optical fibers to the second rod lens. CONSTITUTION:The body 1 of a light sensor is immersed in a sample and light is supplied from a light source 2 to the body 1 through a lens 3 and optical fibers 4 when the sample is measured. The light is transmitted through the sample in a cavity 5 of the body 1 and then received by a light detector 7 through other optical fibers 6. Converging rod lenses 11, 12 having of long of l1, l2 in length are arranged at a prescribed distance of d on an identical axis and coupled to each other through stainless steel wires 13, 14. The light transmitted from the optical fibers 4 to an end face 111 is image-formed on another end face 112. The light radiated from the sample is received by the lens 12, reflected by an evaporated film 17 and image- formed again on the end face 112. The quantity of the light introduced into the optical fibers 6 is detected to determined the absorbance of the sample.
