Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible the highly accurate remote measurement in the absence of power feed and non-dielectrically by using optical fibers for the transmission paths. CONSTITUTION:A light source 5 such as laser, lens 9 and photoelectric transducer 11 are connected via optical fibers 7, 8, 10 to a photo directional coupler 6. As a result of this, the light from the light source 5 subsequently passes through the optical fiber 7, photo directional coupler 6 and optical fiber 8, is emitted from the lens 9 and hits on a reflecting plate 15, thereby receiving the reflection proportional to the physical quantity measured by a sensor 14. It is again condensed into the optical fiber 8 by the lens 9 and is transmitted into the opposite direction. Thence, the optical path is changed by the photo directional coupler 6, is sent to the photoelectric transducer 11 through the optical fiber 10 and is further indicated in an indicating meter 13 after amplification. Hence, the highly accurate non-power-feed and non-dielectric remote measurement is made possible and the laying becomes easy owing to the flexibility of the optical fibers 7, 8, 10.
