Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for optical adjustment and make remote sensing possible by using optical fibers for optical transmission lines. CONSTITUTION:The exit light from a laser light source 1 is made incident to an optical fiber 14, is branched to two ways by a splitter 2, and is projected from microlenses 13 to the inside of an object 8 to be measured through two pieces of speed probes 10. The light scattered from the scattering particles 9 in fluid 8 is made incident via the lenses 13 into an optical fiber 11, and is transmitted to a photoelectric transducer 6, by which the scattered light receiving Doppler shift is heterodyne-detected. The detected frequency is supplied to a light receiver 7. Hence, from the output of the receiver 7, the speed of the fluid 8 is known.
