Abstract

PURPOSE: On the basis of changes with time in the volume of gas formed in every carbonization chamber constituting the coke furnace, the change with time in the total volume of gas formed in the furnace is always determined and predicted to enable the optimization of operation conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A series of calculation equations figuring the change with time in the volume of coke-furnace gas formed in every chamber of the coke furnace 1 are input into the processing unit 9 from the start of coal charge to the exclusion of coke. Then, the times when coal is charged in each chamber 3, scheduled times to charge coal from now and times when the determination or estimation of the total volume of the gas from the coke furnace 1 is conducted are input into the above processing unit 9 to calculate and output the total volume of gas formed in the coke furnace at any desired time, thus determining and predicting the total volume of gas formed in the furnace.
