Abstract
PURPOSE: To lessen the dispersion of quality of coke by estimating the time to complete the carbonization of coal by continuously measuring the temperatures of gas produced in coke oven and of combustion chamber and by using an equation for estimation.
CONSTITUTION: The temperatures of gas produced in coke oven and of the combustion chamber are continuously measured and then the time to reach the maximum temperature of produced gas is calculated while comparing the measured values of the temperature of produced gas continuously. Then, the average temperature of both sides of the carbonization chamber in the period from the coal-charging time to the time when the temperature of produced gas reaches maximum is calculated. Then, the fire-dropping time of coke oven is estimated from the equation using the average temperature and constants determined according to oven. (Where t is the time from a produced gas max. temperature time to a fire-dropping time, TF is the average temperature of combustion chambers on both sides of carbonization chamber in the period from coal-charging time to the time when the temperature of produced gas reaches maximum, a1 and a2 are constants determined according to oven, and c1 is the average value of 1/TF determined by actual results).
