Abstract
PURPOSE: To have a high efficiency operation of a propeller type wind-wheel by taking out the maximum output from the wind-speed range lower than the rated wind-speed value while making control over the pitch angle of blades in the same range.
CONSTITUTION: When a normal constant pitch angle mode is applied in a wind- speed range lower than the rated wind-speed, the pitch angle of blades is held at a certain constant value β' and the change of capacity factor according to the value of μ at this time is shown by the curve C'p. When on the other hand the maximum power mode is applied, the pitch angle to give max. power corresponding to the value of μ changes as indicated by the curve β and this pitch angle will produce a capacity curve shown by the curve Cp, whereby the performance is enhanced corresponding to the hunting area and the propeller type wind-wheel can be thus operated with a high efficiency.
