Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a motor from being overloaded when a load torque changes with time and to raise the running efficiency of the motor, by calculating the load torque in every minimum necessary time and control the motor to a speed appropriate to the load torque.
CONSTITUTION: When a field current setting unit 10 is put at a maximum rated value to apply a speed instruction No, the output of a field current detector 11 is selected by a priority circtit 16 to accelerate the motor by a maximum field current. When the motor reaches a ground speed, the load torque computed by a calculator 17 and a multiplier 18 from the load current and the field current is converted by another calculator 19 into a speed level to which the motor can be acclerated in a field control range. The speed level is stored into an integration memory 20. The speed level is renewed by a logical calculator 22 in every prescribed time to apply a limiter to an amplifier 1 to restrict the speed instruction. Since the motor is limited to the stored speed level, the motor is surely prevented from being overloaded.
