Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve system transient stability and dynamic stability of a generator excitation controller through operation of a means of producing correction factors of normal control outputs confined to a transitional period involving generator of turbulance in the system.
CONSTITUTION: When the system operates normally, the terminal voltage of a generator 1 is applied to a voltage regulation means 8 through a voltage detection circuit 7 to produce a control output EX1 which subsequently controls a field winding 2 through a thyristor 12. When a transmission line 4 develops a trouble in the system, a correction producing means 9 generates an output EX2 for a specified time. The output EX2 is added to the output EX1 with a control output correcting means 10 to produce an output EX3 which is subsequently applied to the winding 2 as a ceiling voltage. In this manner, the controller can be operated at a high response rate to cope with trouble in the system, and at a low response speed during the normal operant, whereby a simultaneous improvement can be made in the system transient stability and the dynamic stability with only one voltage adjuster.
