Abstract

PURPOSE: To control a generator to produce stable output by switching the output voltage of the generator in advance larger than the set voltage at normal operating time when starting a large load having large starting current using the generator.
CONSTITUTION: A motor 9 having large starting current is started by a generator 1 controlled at its field winding 2 by an AVR 6 provided with a regulator 8 altered at its set value by a motor 7. At this time a contact 11a is closed by a signal before starting the generator, time limiting relays 12, 14, 15 and auxiliary relay 13 are energized, a set value increasing auxiliary relay 16 is operated to increase the output voltage until a limit switch 18 is closed. After starting the generator, the output is lowered until the limit switch 22 is closed by the operation of an auxiliary relay 20 for reducing the set value to thus return it to normal state. Accordingly, the stability of the generator can be retained without lowering the voltage at starting time.
