Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize variation of voltage of a generator at start-up time of a loaded motor, by raising the voltage of generator on a step-by-step basis prior to starting of the loaded motor. CONSTITUTION:When a command was issued to start electric motors 11a-11n, a voltage set value given to an automatic voltage adjuster 5 by operation of a generator voltage switching contactor 8 is raised, and voltage of a generator 2 is raised to approximately 105% of the rated voltage. And at the same time, when a switching contactor 12 of the motor 11a is closed and a prescribed time for completing start of the motor has elapsed, the generator voltage switching contactor 8 returns and the voltage set value to be given to the automatic voltage adjuster 5 is again switched to the rated voltage value. It is possible, by doing so, to minimize voltage variation at the start-up time of the motor and also to reduce capacity of the generator.
