Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the establishment of an output voltage at the time of starting by supplying an exciting current to an excitation winding when the revolution speed of a prime mover exceeds a prescribed level and by stopping supplying the exciting current when the output voltage or current of an output winding exceeds a prescribed level. CONSTITUTION:An induction motor 2 is driven by a prime mover 1 as a circuit breaker 7 and a contact 10 are open and another contact 11a is closed. When the revolution speed of the prime mover exceeds a prescribed level, an auxiliary relay 10 acts to close a contact 10a to supply an exciting current from a DC power source 13 to an excitation winding 5. When the voltage of an output winding 4 exceeds a prescribed level, a voltage relay 11 acts to open the contact 11a to stop supplying the exciting current to the excitation winding 5. When the output voltage of the output winding 4 becomes equal to another prescribed level, the circuit breaker 7 is closed to apply power to a load 8.
