Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a drive unit and to decrease the amount of used electric power by generating a peak voltage in response to the energy dissipating pattern when a generator produces energy to a load and setting the exciting output at zero at the time of reaccelerating the generator after the energy is produced. CONSTITUTION:When a generator reaches the maximum speed at (t1) after it is started and accelerated, an exciting current I1 responsive to the energy dissipating pattern is immediately applied thereto at (t3). After the generator dissipates the energy, a reverse current is applied thereto, and thus the voltage at the terminal of the generator is set abruptly at zero, and the output of the exciter is thus set at zero. When the rotating speed of the generator is again accelerated at (t4), it may prepare only a drive unit for the loss corresponding to the mechanical loss to thus reduce the capacity of the drive unit and to reduce the power consumption.
