Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish smooth starting of non-utility electric generator by determining the number of non-utility electric generators to be operated according to negative load immediately prior to the failure of commercial power system while the connection of a load is made when the output of the generator exceeds the load power.
CONSTITUTION: Based on data obtained from voltage and current converters 22 and 23 and a power factor converter 31 an arithmetic circuit 30 computes the load power periodically and stores thereof. In case of power failute, with the action of power failure relay 30, a program in the arithemetic circuit section 30 starts to actuate some of non-utility electric generators 4 to 6 after selected in number according to the load power immediately prior to the power failure. After the starting, a comparison is made between the total output of the generators started and the load power immediately prior to the power failure. When the former exceeds the latter, a breaker 10 communicated to the non-utility generator is closed. With such as arrangement, the generator can be started smoothly avoiding transitional operation in excessive number of machine and overload.
