With the field current of a generator 13 fixed at a given value by means of a field regulating circuit 20, the field current of an electromagnetic coupling 12 to connect a motor 11 and the generator 13 is controlled by means of an automatic frequency regulating circuit 16 in order to gradually raise the output voltage of the generating apparatus 9.
