Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the drop of hydraulic performance due to gas between blades by providing a side wall concavity having side surfaces which partially touches a part of stator blade or a side wall convexity in a stator blade side wall which confronts the blade tip or blade root for an adjustable stator blade.
CONSTITUTION: A concavity 211 formed by cutting a partially heaped portion 21a of a side wall 21 and side surfaces 212, and 213 of the side wall concavity 211 are designed to respond to the maximum value and the minimum value of setting angle and to partially touch the blade surface of the stator blade 30 under each appropriate condition. With this construction, a leakage of fluid which flows past the minute clearance at the tip of the stator blade under either the minimum conditions or the maximum conditions of setting angles of the stator blade 30 is significantly reduced. It may be allowed to provide either a side wall concavity or a side wall cinvexity on the side wall for stator blade root.
