Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to convert heat energy into driving force at a high efficiency by use of a low-quality heat source, by liquefying work fluid having performed work in a closed-cycle engine at a temperature near the critical point.
CONSTITUTION: A work fluid in the liquid phase is charged into an enclosed container and vaporized completely by heating the same to its critical point. Then, it is heated while keeping the same at a pressure higher than the critical pressure. Driving force is generated by supplying the vaporized work fluid to an engine, and the work fluid having performed work in the engine is liquefied at a temperature near the critical point, so that the quantity of heat energy released to the outside of the system in liquefying the vaporized work fluid can be minimized. Further, by employing such a method, it is enabled to use low-quality fuels or heat sources.
